About DaysUntil

DaysUntil site illustration

DaysUntil exists for one job: answering "how long until…" with a live, honest clock. Holiday dates are checked against published calendars — fixed civil holidays straight from the Gregorian calendar, movable feasts like Easter from the published ecclesiastical reckoning, and lunar-calendar dates for Ramadan, Eid, Diwali and Chinese New Year marked as estimates until religious authorities confirm them by moon sighting. The countdowns themselves run entirely in your browser against your own clock — nothing is sent anywhere, no account is needed, and every page works on a phone, a tablet, a laptop, or the giant monitor on your desk.

How the clocks work

Every countdown on this site computes the remaining days, hours, minutes, and seconds between your local device clock and and the upcoming date of the holiday — local timezone first, because that is the midnight that matters to you. When a date passes, the page flips to the next occurrence automatically, and the dates-through-2030 tables on every page let you plan years ahead without touching a calendar app.

Who it is for

Event planners locking in venues, students counting down to a break, expats tracking holidays back home across time zones, teachers building classroom excitement, and anyone who has ever typed "how many days until Christmas" into a search box at 1 a.m. in December. If that last one is you — this page was built for your bookmark bar.

How it is funded

The site is free, supported by advertising and clearly labeled retail referral links. See our disclosures page for exactly what that means and what it never influences.
